August Already?

Where is 2011 going? I'm pretty sure that if I blink again it will be over! I can't believe that next week is August already. Can I please just do a rewind or a slow down? A pause button might be good right now.
So I started a new chapter in my life and I couldn't be more excited and happy about it. So if you see me smiling at my phone or just smiling in general.... he's probably the reason. ;) So here is Greg.

He's obsessed with and really good at wakeboarding (and landing that back flip). He's been one of my best friends for a year now and he's going to college all the way out in Kansas (boo on the Kansas part) but I am really excited for him. I am seeing God work in his life and through it to mine. One of the best things... my family adores him. I am really tight with my family so this is a HUGE thing for me. I'm pretty sure there is not a moment when I'm around him that I'm not smiling. I respect him so much and am so blessed to have such an incredible man in my life.  :)

Introducing another pecuiliar treasure

My Dad :)

Wow where do I even begin about him? I respect him so much. I've always been a daddy's girl. I've grown up playing sports and keeping up with all my boy cousins. When I was younger I specifically remember my dad as being strong and protective. He better be he has a wife and four daughters to take care of. ;) He's showed us what a father's love is all about.

He worked hard to provide for his family. He's a truck driver and I remember him taking each of us along with him one night during the summer. I always enjoyed that even if I could never stay awake til we got to the city (1 1/2 hours away).

My dad was the kind of guy that worked long hours and would get home from work and still take time to play with us. He still is... he works long nights comes home and washes my car or fixes something for me. I really appreciate that... and yes I know i'm pretty spoiled.

Over the years our relationship has grown so much. I'm blessed to be so close with my dad and to ask him for advice. Whether it's about directions, something about my car or just confused about something my dad is always there for me.

So thanks dad for doing as much as you could to raise me, always watching out for me, and always being there for me even when I made mistakes. I love you dad!

Peculiar Treasures

Peculiar - distinctive in nature or character from others, special.

I love this word. I want to start doing a "series" of posts on some peculiar treasures in my life. These are going to be people, places, or things that have impacted my life more than I could ever express.

First up.....

Jenny-

She is one of my best friends in the world. She is one of those people that always got your back and is completely honest with you. She's such an incredible woman of God. I've been encouraged and blessed by her willingness to give up her life/goals/dreams to God for his will. Jenny is beautiful the whole way through inside and out. She's been with me through the good and the bad times. Wether it was stupid boy problems or sitting there laughing histarically til we are crying. Jenny's life and personality has challenged me in so many ways.

Thank you Jenny for all you have done and continue to do. I love you so much!
