Protection...

It's really been over two months since I posted... I'm ashamed. Things have been insane lately and I just felt like to much going on that I should take some time out and get some things in order. Well... I'm back and at the moment feeling very very sore and mentally exhausted.

The new year started out going well.... I brought it in sitting on Siesta Key beach in the arms of my better half. Fireworks going off all around. Sweet and romantic. I set some goals... not resolutions.. goals.

Things were going well when I went back to work. I was blessed to receive a nice Christmas bonus.. and then go onto salary with a raise. God has been so faithful to me. Things were going well. It was hard getting the kids back into routine and I still feel like they aren't quite there completely. Yesterday was mentally draining with the kids... and I was frustrated. Today started off MUCH better and ended up much much worse. The day went normal... through the routine... I left in their van with the 3 yr old girl to pick up the two boys from school. There is a really bad intersection and I have to turn left there. Well the sun was shining in  my eyes making it really hard for me to see... I didn't see anything started going and BANG! Before I knew what happened we were stopped... airbags out... dust flying. Worst feeling in my life and it was NOT MY CAR! My little girl instantly started crying and someone was right there at my door asking me if I'm ok. I answered yes and proceeded to get out making sure I felt ok... and unbuckeled my girl. She stopped crying as soon as she was in my arms. THANK GOD cause I was trying soooo hard to be calm. The police officer was there right away asking me questions. I called my boss right away. See this all took place while his wife was IN LABOR! What yeah that would happen.

Thankfully everyone was ok. The van we think is totalled. [insert baaaaaaaad feeling here] UGH! Totally not what I wanted to ever ever do. He took it really well and told me its a van... we are glad that everyone is ok. I hope she takes it well. Her dad came over to watch the kids so he could go back to the hospital and he was SUPER nice asking me several times if I'm doing ok and checking on me. Got in my car to go home... called my better half and bawled my eyes out. He is so amazing and was there for me as much as he could be. I felt a lot better got home.. cried again... my parents both hugged me and told me that everything will be ok... My adorable little niece asked me why I'm crying and where my ouchie is. Such a sweetie.

Bleh so that was my day. Not what I had in mind at ALL! Feeling the effects of being in an accident now... and pretty sure it's only to get worse. So I'm told anyway.

So now... my friend is taking me out to eat and for ice cream... Just what I needed some downtime to get my mind off of things. Hopefully no nightmares.

Thank you Jesus for protection!

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.  - Psalm 5:10-12

Props to Amelia Bedelia for putting these verses on for me today. I needed them. :)

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for time I was able to spend with my best friend. [even if it flew by]

I got to spend a few days with my favorite man. I don't even know how to describe in words how amazing my weekend was. He came home for fall break and it was such a fantastic time. He took me out to dinner one night. Breakfast with my parents, going to a wedding and cornmaze. Spending quality time together is good for the soul. We also got to spend an evening with his family which was also grand. My heart was in need of some good quality time and for anyone that was around me I'm sure I was smiling a little more than normal. My heart was dancing and it felt like a dream having him home.

It makes me realize how important he is in my life and how much I actually missed him while he was gone. Saying goodbye was even harder but this time we had together makes me look forward to his next homecoming.

He makes me so happy and somehow makes everything ok. After he left my brain was on overload with all the things to think about such as job hunting and all the things to get done. I don't know how I didn't even think about that stuff while he was here but it was pretty nice not worrying about that stuff.

Needless to say I enjoyed our time together to the upmost and I respect him and love him so much more. [I didn't think that it was possible... but it is] So now I sit here in my happy [yet sad cause he's gone] little bubble reminescing. And until Thanksgiving break... this princess will be waiting for her prince charming to come home again. :)

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for quite a few things... most of them pertaining to a certain handsome man.

Tonight I get to pick up my better half at the airport. 1. Airplanes - if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be able to see him over fall break. 2. I'm thankful that this two month distance period is over and it has strengthened our relationship in ways I would've never understood. 3. I'm thankful that volleyball is starting up next week. I can't wait to get back into the groove with that. It's going to be great.

Lastly I'm soooo excited for the leaves changing. I LOVE fall def one of my favorite times of the year. :) My heart is happy.

Thankful Thursday... On Friday :]

Yesterday was a bit hectic.... ok a lot.

But I am thankful for God's guidance and answer to my prayer. I'm going through the whole not fun process of job searching. Yeah all the stressfull things that come along with that.

So here's the short version of the story... I applied for this Nanny position and it was my ideal job. Good pay, benefits, all major holidays off, 2 weeks paid vacation. 2 little girls and they e-mailed me back.

Let me back up a little bit. Yesterday I was starting to stress out a little bit. So I started praying God you know my needs and I know you will provide. But I haven't heard anything yet. I'm not exactly sure the length of time between then and when I got that e-mail at max a few hours. So of course I got excited. This is PERFECT right??

So on my way home I was excitedly telling my boyfriend all about this and how I'm hoping it works out and they want to meet me etc. When we got of the phone I just had this wierd feeling. Something wasn't quite right. So I prayed to God... "PLEASE show me if I'm supposed to really pour myself into getting this position." As I got home I was excitedly telling my mom the news when I had to run out the door to go to the dentist.

From one place to the next.... I had worship team practice after so I had to wait until 8:30 pm to finally open my laptop up and check the details and respond back to her e-mail. I found out the town where they lived... I didn't recognize the name. I was like oh great where is that. So handy dandy mapquest showed me that they live a whopping 30ish miles away from me!

At this time a huge chunk of disappointment hit me. Come on God this is the perfect job... starts in January and was exactly what I was looking for. But deep down I knew that this was his answer to my prayer. Even though it's NOT what I wanted to hear I am glad for such a clear answer and I'm thankful for that.

Now back to the rat race of searching...

Psalm 62.... check it out!

Be blessed

Rain is a good thing :]

So it's Thursday and I haven't posted since last Thurday's thankful post. [oops] I promise I will try and do better. ;]

RaIn~ I am still thankful for it even though we have been receiving an over abundance of it right now. It's flooding like crazy around here. Schools are closed and people can't get anywhere. [I was lucky and got rained in with my amazing family.]

*I've always been a big fan of rainy days... lighting lots of candlles and drinking some coffee or hot chocolate or hot tea.

*I love hearing the sound of rain hitting against the window. What a calming and soothing thing. It also reminds me of how my sins are washed away and I am made new. Thank you Jesus! So as I was soaking in [literally] and enjoying all the rain that we've got this week I am thinking I could still take a few more days of it. :]

*The above pictures are me and some of my friends enjoying a good down pour just loving life. :]

I'm also thankful for ...

I just got to talk with my best friend who is volunteering down in Guatemala right now at an orphanage. She's going to be there for 3 months. I miss her soo much. I am so thankful for skype allowing us to communicate and see each other. Best part is that.... drum roll please.... it's FREE! :]

Be thankful today because you are loved by your heavenly Father.

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for:

Grace - mercy; clemency; pardon

Without grace we would have no hope. I sit here in awe today of the grace that God freely bestows upon me everyday.  So I'm proclaming praises to my Father and thankful today [and everyday] for His grace that gives me freedom from my iniquities. Thank you Jesus!

So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:6-8

Blessings for you,

~Jess
